The Pace Office of Graduate Admission informs applicants of the committee’s decision—denied or accepted—within 1 week of completed application submission.

Candidates residing in the U.S. can apply up to two week prior to their desired start date. We encourage prospective students, however, to submit their application well before the deadline if possible.

Admission Requirements

Applications are carefully reviewed by the Graduate Admission Committee utilizing a holistic approach which considers qualitative and quantitative factors to ensure that admitted students have the requisite background and ability to succeed in the program of their choice.

Important Note: GRE and GMAT scores are not required for admission.

Resume The resume should call out a student’s experience in the field, with a focus on prerequisite courses.
Two (2) letters of recommendation (optional) Two letters of recommendation are optional but strongly recommended. If you choose to submit letters of recommendation in support of your application, letters should be from academic or professional references who can knowledgeably comment on your ability to successfully complete graduate study. Please note that the Graduate Admission Committee reserves the right to require letters of recommendation on a case-by-case basis.
Transcripts Official college/university transcripts from all previously attended institutions are required upon acceptance. See below for submission instructions.
Personal statement The personal statement should be one page and no more than 750 words.
It is an opportunity to provide an overview of yourself as a student including what your goals might be, why you want to pursue the MS in Computer Science, and why Pace is appealing.
Students can also use the personal statement to demonstrate how their personal and professional growth builds upon their qualifications.

Prerequisite Courses

An entering student with limited or no previous background in the field of computer science or programming may be required to take up to 4 credits of a prerequisite bridge course, CS 505 Introduction to Computer Science with Java. A student with a baccalaureate in computer science should be able to waive the prerequisite. The bridge course does NOT count toward the degree. Grades earned in the bridge course are computed into the student’s QPA.

International Students

International students will need to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson PTE academic scores. The Duolingo English Test may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Note: International students will not receive a student visa for the online MS in Computer Science.

Transcripts

Applicants who have earned a degree or completed coursework at Pace University will not be required to submit a transcript from the University. They are, however, asked to indicate on the application that they have attended Pace.

Transcripts from every accredited college or university attended or graduated from must be sent to Pace University directly from the academic institution electronically or by mail, or forwarded by the applicant in sealed envelopes from the academic institution.

Academic records issued in a language other than English must be translated and attested to by the institution of origin or by a Pace-approved translation agency accredited through NACES.
